It’s spring in Arizona. It is such a beautiful time of year. Everything is starting to grow, turn green, and flower. The orange blossoms are so fragrant. There is such promise seeing the buds open up and watching the hummingbirds and bees just swarm all over them. Pansies are such a happy flower. They make me smile. Our Yellow Bird of Paradise has transplanted nicely from the front to the back yard.
That is the sweet part of this post. The bitter part is our sweet dog, Melli, will be put down tomorrow. She is 16 and has been failing over the past few months. This is going to be such a tough thing to get through. Everyone who meets her loves her. Even though she is old, when she wants her breakfast she dances around the kitchen like a puppy. She barks when it’s time to get up. Barks when it’s time to go for a walk. All these things will ring silent after tomorrow. It will be difficult to explain to our grandchildren that are too young to understand. Miss Halle Boo adores Melli and can’t leave her alone when she comes to visit. Halle is 4.
Our backyard runneth over with promise for spring but inside the house for awhile will be very sad and feel empty.
Until next time…
